Cutting Instructions:

If you are making your quilt scrappy, be sure to use a good mix of different fabrics.

​

Background:

(2) 4" squares - draw a diagonal line on wrong side.

(8) 2" x 3 1/2 " 

​

Light/medium:

(2) 4" squares

(1) 3 1/2" square

(8) 2" squares - draw a diagonal line on wrong side

​

Dark:

(8) 2" squares - draw a diagonal line on wrong side

​

Sewing Instructions:

Make Half Square Triangles (HST) by placing (1) 4" Background square on top of (1)  4" Light/Med Blue square, right sides together.  Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line.  Cut apart on line, and press to Blue.    Square up to 3 1/2"

​

Make Flying Geese units by placing (1) 2" Light/Med Blue square on one end of (1) 2" x 3 1/2" Background, right sides together.  Sew on drawn line.  Cut 1/4" seam allowance, flip back and press to blue.      Repeat on remaining end of background rectangle.  Make 4.

Repeat above steps using (1) 2" Dark Blue and (1) 2" x 3 1/2" Background.      Make 4

Sew (1) Light/Med Blue Flying Geese unit to (1) Dark Blue Flying Geese unit, as shown:

Assemble your block:

​

Your block should measure 9 1/2" unfinished.

(1) 3 1/2" square

(2) 4" squares
