Cutting Instructions: Use a good mix of background fabrics for a pleasing look.
NOTE: Pattern refers to Blue fabrics (Light and Dark) however this could be any colour based on your choice.
Background:
(2) 4" squares - draw a diagonal line on wrong side
(8) 2" x 3 1/2"
(1) 3 1/2" squares
Medium and/or Light Blue
(2) 4" squares
(12) 2" squares - draw a diagonal line on wrong side
Sewing Instructions:
Make Half Square Triangles (HST) by placing (1) 4" Background square on top of (1) Medium Blue square, right sides together. Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line. Cut apart on line and press to blue. Makes 4. Square up to 3 1/2".
Make Flying Geese (FG) by placing (1) 2" Medium Blue square on one end of (1) 2" x 3 1/2" background rectangle, right sides together. Sew on drawn line. Flip and press to blue. Repeat on opposite end. Make 4.
Sew (1) 2" x 3 1/2" Background rectangle to FG, as shown:
Using (4) 2" Medium Blue squares and (1) 4" Background square, make a block using method in previous BOM as shown. Make 1. Square up to 3 1/2", if needed.
Assemble your block as shown:
Your block should measure 9 1/2" unfinished. Check back in July for next block.

Cutting Instructions:
Background:
(20) 3 1/2" squares.
(4) 4 1/2" squares.
Light Blue:
(8) 4 1/2" squares - draw diagonal line on wrong side
Dark Blue:
(4) 4 1/2" squares
Sewing Instructions:
Make HST by placing (1) 4 1/2" Light Blue on top of (1) 4 1/2" Background square, right sides together. Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line. Cut apart on line and press to Blue. No need to square up yet. Make 8.
Make HST by placing (1) 4 1/2" Light Blue square on top of (1) 4 1/2" Dark Blue square (different fabric) right sides together. Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line. Cup apart on line and press to Light. No need to square up yet. Make 8.
Cut each HST in half diagonally, opposite the seam line.
Match up the following units and sew together to make a QST. Square up to 3 1/2". Makes 16 of each.
Assemble your block as shown. Makes 4. Your blocks should measure 9 1/2".
