Cutting Instructions: Use a good mix of background fabrics for a pleasing look.
NOTE: Pattern refers to Blue fabrics (Light and Dark) however this could be any colour based on your choice.

Background:
(2) 4 1/2" squares - draw a diagonal line on wrong side
(1) 3 1/2" square
(2) 4" square - draw a diagonal line on wrong side
Light Blue
(2) 4" squares

Medium Blue
(2) 4 1/2" squares
​
Dark Blue
(4) 4" squares - draw diagonal line on wrong side
Sewing Instructions:
Make Half Square Triangles (HST) by placing (1) 4" Background square on top of (1) 4" Light
Blue Background square, right sides together. Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line.
Cut apart on line, and press to Light Blue. Square up to 3 1/2". Make 4.

Repeat process to make HST using (1) 4 1/2" Background and (1) 4 1/2" Medium Blue squares. No need to square up yet. Make 4.
Next, place (1) 4" Dark Blue square on top of (1) Med Blue/Background HST, right sides together. Place HST seam in opposite direction as line on Dark Blue square. Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line. Cut apart on line, and press to Dark Blue. Square up to 3 1/2"

Make 4 - Note - You will only need 4 units that look exactly like the one on the right. Discard remaining.
Assemble your block as shown:​
Your block should measure 9 1/2" unfinished. Check back in December for Setting instructions.
