Cutting Instructions: Use a good mix of background fabrics for a pleasing look.
NOTE: Pattern refers to Blue fabrics (Light and Dark) however this could be any colour based on your choice.
Background:
(1) 3 1/2" square
(4) 2" x 3 1/2"
(16) 2" squares - draw a diagonal line on wrong side
Medium Blue
(4) 2" x 3 1/2"
Dark Blue
(4) 3 1/2" squares
Sewing Instructions:
Place (1) 2" Background square on one corner of (1) 3 1/2" Dark Blue square, right sides together. Sew on drawn line. Cut 1/4" seam allowance, flip and press to Background. Repeat process on 3 remaining corners, as shown. Square up to 3 1/2", if needed. Make 4.
Sew (1) 2" x 3 1/2" Background strip to (1) 2" x 3 1/2" Medium Blue strip together lengthwise.
Assemble your block as shown:
Your block should measure 9 1/2" unfinished. Check back in October for next block.
